Community Guidelines

Last updated: September 6, 2026

relayMe is a community built around voice, conversation, live rooms, posts, groups, and private messages.

We want relayMe to feel like a place where adults can actually talk. People should be able to disagree, argue, joke, swear, criticize ideas, and express unpopular opinions without feeling like every offensive word will result in punishment.

At the same time, relayMe is not a free-for-all. Threats, stalking, fraud, exploitation, serious harassment, doxxing, and deliberate attempts to damage the community are not acceptable.

These guidelines explain the basic rules that apply across relayMe.

1. Speak Freely, but Respect Boundaries

relayMe does not prohibit speech simply because it is rude, offensive, controversial, insulting, or unpopular.

Profanity, arguments, dark humor, criticism, sarcasm, political disagreement, offensive jokes, and one-off insults are not automatically violations.

There is, however, a difference between arguing with someone and deliberately pursuing them.

You may not repeatedly contact, follow, target, or intimidate someone who has clearly tried to disengage.

This includes:

  • Repeatedly contacting someone after they have asked you to stop.
  • Following someone between rooms, groups, posts, or accounts to continue a conflict.
  • Creating alternate accounts to get around a block or restriction.
  • Encouraging other users to target someone.
  • Repeatedly making unwanted sexual comments or advances.
  • Using relayMe primarily to intimidate, stalk, or torment another user.

Context matters. A heated argument between two people who are both participating is different from one person relentlessly pursuing someone who wants the interaction to end.

2. Threats, Violence, and Personal Safety

Credible threats of violence are not allowed.

You may not use relayMe to threaten to kill, injure, sexually assault, or seriously harm another person.

You also may not organize, encourage, or assist serious violence against another person.

This does not mean that every discussion involving violence is prohibited. relayMe may contain discussions about news, politics, self-defense, crime, history, fictional violence, dark humor, or other difficult subjects.

The difference is whether someone is actually threatening or attempting to cause harm.

3. Offensive Language and Hate

relayMe does not maintain a list of words that automatically result in punishment.

Profanity, slurs, offensive jokes, quotations, satire, criticism of religions or ideologies, and discussions involving hateful language are not automatically prohibited.

Language may become a violation when it is used as part of:

  • Serious targeted harassment.
  • Credible threats.
  • Coordinated abuse.
  • Calls for violence.
  • Persistent attempts to intimidate or drive another person away from the service.

relayMe looks at the situation as a whole rather than judging a conversation based on a single word.

4. Privacy, Doxxing, and Stalking

Do not publish or distribute another person's sensitive private information to threaten, intimidate, harass, or expose them to harm.

This may include:

  • Home addresses.
  • Precise real-time locations.
  • Private phone numbers.
  • Login credentials.
  • Financial information.
  • Government identification information.
  • Private medical or similarly sensitive records.

Information being publicly available somewhere else does not automatically make it acceptable to use that information to stalk, intimidate, or threaten someone on relayMe.

5. Sexual Content and Exploitation

Adult users may discuss sexual topics where otherwise lawful.

relayMe does not allow:

  • Sexual exploitation of minors.
  • Sexual content involving minors.
  • Nonconsensual intimate recordings or images.
  • Sexual extortion.
  • Threats to publish intimate material.
  • Persistent unwanted sexual advances or harassment.
  • Unlawful sexual content.

Serious child-safety violations may result in immediate account removal and may be reported where required by law.

6. Spam, Scams, Fraud, and Malicious Activity

Do not use relayMe to deceive, defraud, compromise, or spam other users.

This includes:

  • Phishing.
  • Malware.
  • Credential theft.
  • Financial scams.
  • Fraudulent impersonation.
  • Mass unsolicited messaging.
  • Fake giveaways.
  • Deceptive investment schemes.
  • Attempts to exploit relayMe's systems or other users.

Attempting to abuse technical vulnerabilities against relayMe or its users may also result in account action.

7. Persistent Disruptive Behavior

relayMe cannot create a separate rule for every possible way someone can damage a community.

In rare and serious cases, relayMe may restrict or remove an account that demonstrates a persistent pattern of bad-faith behavior that significantly disrupts the community, even when individual incidents do not clearly violate another rule on their own.

This rule exists for users who repeatedly operate just outside the boundaries of individual rules while continuing to cause serious problems across the service.

Examples may include:

  • Repeatedly provoking conflicts across multiple rooms, groups, posts, or conversations.
  • Deliberately entering communities or live rooms primarily to derail them or antagonize participants.
  • Exploiting technicalities in these guidelines to continue abusive or disruptive behavior.
  • Repeatedly creating conflict and then moving to another part of the service to start again.
  • Coordinating disruption with other users.
  • Repeatedly evading blocks, room removals, group removals, or other community boundaries.
  • Creating alternate accounts to continue disruptive behavior.
  • Abusing reporting or moderation systems as part of an ongoing campaign against other users.
  • Using relayMe primarily to provoke, antagonize, or destabilize the community rather than participate in it normally.
  • Establishing a sustained pattern in which the user's conduct repeatedly causes serious disruption even though individual incidents may appear minor when viewed alone.

This rule is not intended for ordinary arguments, personality conflicts, unpopular opinions, offensive speech, or users who are simply rude.

relayMe will not treat someone as a community problem merely because they are:

  • Controversial.
  • Unpopular.
  • Frequently criticized.
  • Politically unpopular.
  • Offensive.
  • Blunt or rude.
  • Frequently reported.
  • Involved in occasional arguments.

Reports alone do not establish a pattern of disruptive behavior.

A serious pattern must exist over time or across multiple interactions, and the overall behavior must be significant enough that the user's continued presence is clearly damaging the community.

One bad argument, one offensive post, or one disruptive live-room appearance would generally not qualify on its own.

This rule is intended for the exceptional case where the pattern itself becomes the problem.

8. Blocking and Personal Boundaries

Blocking is meant to create a clear boundary between users.

If someone blocks you, do not deliberately try to bypass that block.

This includes:

  • Creating alternate accounts.
  • Asking other people to relay messages.
  • Following the person into other spaces solely to continue contact.
  • Using other relayMe features to get around the block.

Deliberate block evasion may result in additional restrictions.

9. Private Messages and Live Rooms

Private messages are intended to remain private between participants.

relayMe does not routinely review private conversations for moderation.

If a private message is reported, the reported message and a limited amount of surrounding context may be submitted for review so relayMe can understand what happened.

Users should only expect moderators to receive private-message content when it has been reported or when disclosure is otherwise required to operate the service, protect users, or comply with law.

Live rooms follow the same general rules as the rest of relayMe.

A heated, offensive, or controversial conversation is not automatically a violation simply because someone objects to it.

Room hosts and group administrators may also establish additional rules for their own spaces. They may remove people from those spaces for conduct that does not necessarily justify a relayMe-wide suspension.

Being removed from a room or group does not automatically mean that you violated these Community Guidelines.

10. Reports and Abuse of Reporting

Users may report content, messages, profiles, rooms, or other activity that they believe violates these guidelines.

A report is a request for review. It is not proof that a violation occurred.

relayMe may take no action when reported behavior does not violate these rules.

Do not abuse the reporting system.

This includes:

  • Coordinating mass reports against someone because you dislike them.
  • Knowingly submitting false reports.
  • Fabricating or altering evidence.
  • Repeatedly using reports as retaliation.
  • Trying to manipulate moderation decisions through report volume.
  • Encouraging others to report someone solely to make that user appear problematic.

Good-faith reports will not be punished simply because relayMe determines that no violation occurred.

Likewise, receiving many reports does not automatically mean a user has violated these guidelines.

11. Enforcement

relayMe may respond to violations in different ways depending on severity, history, context, and risk.

Possible actions include:

  • No action.
  • A warning.
  • Removal of content.
  • Restrictions on specific features.
  • Removal from a particular space.
  • Temporary suspension.
  • Permanent account removal.

Not every violation will follow the same sequence.

Serious behavior may result in immediate suspension or removal.

Repeated lower-level violations may also result in stronger action over time.

A user's overall history may be considered when there is an established pattern of actual violations or serious disruptive behavior.

A report that was reviewed and found not to be a violation does not count against the user.

12. Appeals

Users should have a reasonable way to appeal significant moderation decisions.

An appeal may be considered when:

  • Relevant context was missed.
  • A rule was applied incorrectly.
  • Evidence was inaccurate.
  • The enforcement action was disproportionate.
  • A pattern of behavior was misunderstood or incorrectly attributed to the user.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that a decision will be reversed.

Repeated abuse of the appeal process may be limited.

Final Word

relayMe is intended to be a community where adults can have real conversations without excessive policing.

You do not have to agree with everyone here.

You do not have to like everyone here.

You do not have to avoid every offensive word or controversial subject.

You are allowed to argue. You are allowed to be blunt. You are allowed to have unpopular opinions.

But you cannot use relayMe to threaten, stalk, exploit, defraud, seriously harass, or deliberately make the community worse for everyone around you.

Most people will never come close to the boundaries in these guidelines.

The goal is simple: give people room to speak freely while protecting the community from people who repeatedly use that freedom as a tool to harm, intimidate, or disrupt others.

These guidelines may be updated as relayMe evolves.
