Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information IMS Productions, operating relayMe (“relayMe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects through relayMe, how we use and share that information, how long we keep it, and the controls available to you.
This policy applies to the relayMe Platform and related relayMe services.
relayMe is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older.
2. Information We Collect
Account and Profile Information
When you create an account, we collect your username and email address.
If you create an account using a password, we store a hashed version of that password rather than the password itself.
If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the account identifier provided by Apple and the email address Apple provides to us. If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, this may be a private relay address.
You may also choose to add information to your public profile, including a display name, bio, location, and profile photo.
Content and Communications
We store content you create or send through relayMe, including:
- Posts, comments, and voice replies
- Direct messages
- Group messages
- Audio messages and other uploaded audio
- Topic tags
- Tags or mentions involving other users
Direct and group messages may include audio or text.
Activity Information
We collect information about how you use relayMe and interact with other users and content. This may include:
- Plays and likes
- Comment-thread activity
- Shares
- Follows and followers
- Blocks
- Reports
- Live room participation
- Your role within a live room
We use this information to operate relayMe's social features, provide feeds and recommendations, maintain account functionality, and support moderation.
Device and Service Information
We collect the information needed to operate notifications and maintain the service, including your push notification token and notification preferences.
We also maintain service and diagnostic logs. These may include IP addresses, requests made to the service, whether a request succeeded, performance information, device information, and crash or error details.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to relayMe Plus, we store information about your subscription, including your plan, subscription status, renewal information, and identifiers associated with your Stripe billing account.
We do not store your payment card information.
3. How We Use Information
We use information collected through relayMe to:
- Create, secure, and manage your account
- Provide posts, messaging, groups, live rooms, and other relayMe features
- Deliver and personalize your feed
- Send notifications
- Process and manage subscriptions
- Provide requested transcriptions
- Investigate reports and enforce relayMe's rules
- Prevent abuse
- Diagnose problems and improve the reliability of the service
- Protect relayMe, its users, and our systems
We do not use your activity for advertising.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Public Information
relayMe includes public and social features. Information that may be visible to other users includes:
- Your display name and username
- Your bio, location, and profile photo
- Your public posts
- Audio attached to public posts
- Topics and tags associated with your posts
- Your public comments and voice replies
- Your follower and following counts
- The users you follow and the users who follow you
- Your presence in a live room while you are participating in it
Content posted publicly may be available to any relayMe user, not only people who follow you.
Information you send within a direct message, group, or other restricted part of relayMe is available to the people who have access to that conversation or space.
5. Direct and Group Messages
relayMe stores direct and group messages so participants can retrieve their conversations.
Messages are encrypted while being transmitted between your device and relayMe. They are not end-to-end encrypted. relayMe's systems can therefore access message content when necessary to store, deliver, maintain, or operate the service.
Message history is not automatically deleted. Messages remain stored until they are deleted, the conversation or group is removed, or the associated account is deleted.
Reports and Moderation
If you report a message, we store the reason you provided and a reference to the reported message.
The report itself may remain after the message is deleted.
Group administrators may have tools that allow them to review or remove messages within groups they manage.
Direct messages do not provide group administrators or other users with equivalent access. When a direct message is reported, we review the information available through the reporting process.
6. Live Voice Rooms
relayMe does not ordinarily record or retain the audio from live room conversations.
While you are participating in a live room, your voice is transmitted through relayMe as necessary to provide the room to other participants.
Clips
A room host may enable relayMe's clip feature.
When clips are enabled, a limited amount of recent room audio may be held temporarily so a participant can create a clip. The current clip window is up to five minutes.
This temporary audio is used only while the room is active and is discarded when the room ends.
If a clip is created, the clip is also available only during that room and is deleted when the room ends.
Outside of the clip feature, relayMe does not record live room audio for moderation or other purposes.
Room Activity
We may keep records of live room participation, including which room you joined, when you participated, and your role in the room.
These records are retained as part of relayMe's activity data until the associated room is removed or your account is deleted.
7. Audio and Transcriptions
Audio that you upload to relayMe, including audio attached to posts, comments, replies, and messages, is stored so it can be played through the service.
Who can access that audio depends on where you shared it. Public audio may be available publicly within relayMe, while audio shared in a conversation or group is limited to people with access to that conversation or group.
relayMe may provide transcription for supported audio content.
When an eligible user requests a transcript of a post, comment, or group message, the associated audio is sent to OpenAI to generate the transcript. relayMe then stores the resulting text.
relayMe does not currently support transcription of direct messages.
A transcript is available to the same users who are permitted to access the original audio.
When supported content is deleted, its associated audio and transcript are also deleted, subject to the backup limitations described below.
8. Payments and Third-Party Services
Stripe
relayMe uses Stripe to process relayMe Plus subscriptions.
Stripe handles payment information through its own payment systems. relayMe does not receive or store your complete card number or other full payment credentials.
We store the information needed to manage your relayMe subscription, including your plan, subscription status, renewal information, and Stripe identifiers associated with your billing account.
We may provide Stripe with your email address and display name to create or manage your billing account.
Canceling relayMe Plus ends the subscription through relayMe, but it does not delete records that Stripe independently retains for payment processing, legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or other operational purposes.
Apple
We use Apple for Sign in with Apple and for delivering push notifications to Apple devices.
OpenAI
We use OpenAI to provide the transcription features described in this policy.
We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
9. When We Share Information
We may disclose information:
- To other relayMe users when you choose to make content public or share it with them
- To service providers such as Stripe, Apple, and OpenAI when necessary to provide the features described in this policy
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request
- When reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, property, or security of relayMe, our users, or others
We do not sell personal information.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
We generally keep account information and user content for as long as your account remains active or until the information is deleted.
Some information may be retained differently as described below.
Reports and Moderation Records
We retain reports and related moderation records as necessary to operate and protect the service.
If you delete your account, reports you submitted are deleted with your account.
Reports submitted about your account may remain as part of our moderation history, but the information identifying the deleted account is removed.
Administrative and Diagnostic Records
We retain certain moderation logs, crash reports, error reports, and other operational records for security, troubleshooting, and service administration.
When an associated account is deleted, we may remove the link between these records and the account while retaining the underlying record.
Backups
We periodically create backups of relayMe data, including database information and stored media.
Information that has been deleted from the active service may remain temporarily in a backup created before the deletion. Backup copies remain until that backup is removed or overwritten.
Account Deletion
You can delete individual content through relayMe where that option is available.
You can also delete your relayMe account from within the app or through the relayMe account portal.
Deleting your account removes:
- Your account and profile
- Posts, comments, and voice replies you created
- Direct and group messages you sent
- Associated audio and transcripts
- Group memberships
- Follow relationships
- Blocks
- Your active push notification token
Any active relayMe Plus subscription is canceled.
If your account uses Sign in with Apple, relayMe also requests revocation of the Apple sign-in connection associated with the account. Your relayMe account is still deleted if Apple's systems are unavailable or the revocation request cannot be completed.
Certain moderation records, administrative records, and backup copies may remain as described above.
11. Age Requirement
relayMe is available only to users who are 18 or older.
On supported Apple devices, relayMe may use Apple's age-related account or device features to determine whether the user is an adult, underage, or has declined to provide an age status.
relayMe does not receive or store your birthdate through this process.
If relayMe receives an underage status, the account is deleted.
We may also remove an account if we otherwise learn that it belongs to someone under 18.
12. Security
relayMe uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account information.
Data transmitted between the relayMe app and our services is encrypted in transit.
Passwords are stored using one-way password hashing rather than in plain text.
Access to account information requires authentication, and access controls are used to limit users to information and features they are permitted to access.
No online service can guarantee complete security. Despite these protections, unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure of information remains possible.
13. Your Controls
Depending on the feature, relayMe allows you to:
- Edit your profile
- Delete posts, comments, and messages
- Manage notifications
- Follow or unfollow users
- Block users
- Report users or content
- Manage or cancel relayMe Plus
- Sign out
- Delete your account
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when relayMe or our practices change.
When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this policy. When appropriate, we may also notify you through relayMe.
15. Contact
